How I Earned 500,000 Miles Since Switching To The Capital One Venture X Business – Forbes Advisor

Travel is my life as a digital nomad. My expenses include many flights, hotels and Airbnbs, dining, groceries, ride-sharing/taxi services, public transportation (trains, trams, metro, busses) and shopping.

I use the Capital One Venture X Business card to pay for any of these expenses that fit my business activities, which are quite a few since I own a consultancy and education business. I use personal credit cards to pay for any other expenses.

My business expenses average about $56,000 per month. I earn many miles primarily using the Venture X Business card and the Ink Business Preferred as a secondary business credit card.

I also have an employee card. My employee pays business expenses on her card, and I earn the miles. In my opinion, the Venture X Business is the best business travel credit card in the market. I use it to pay for purchases I would have otherwise made with cash. But by using my Venture X Business instead I’ve saved thousands of dollars on flights, stays and food.

Some of the extra benefits I didn’t anticipate using are those specific to business owners. I get an itemized report of my spending to simplify budgeting and taxes each year, plus purchase records that let me quickly download my purchases into Quicken®, QuickBooks®, and Excel®. I can also add account managers to make purchases and payments, review transactions and resolve any problems (my accountant has this access).
