Basic lifts can range anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000, though a curved or custom stair lift can potentially exceed $30,000, she says.

Other factors to note when choosing a stair lift include customization options, installation costs and maintenance fees, says Eichenberger. She says some stair lifts can come with additional features like adjustable seats, folding arms or remote controls, which may be beneficial depending on the user’s comfort and safety needs and preferences but also could further raise the total cost of the stair lift.
“Ask about warranty coverage provided in case of any issues,” adds Eichenberger. Warranty coverage depends on the manufacturer and stair lift configuration and may cover major parts and labor.
