American Airlines And World Of Hyatt Announce A Deeper Partnership—Including Elite Benefits – Forbes Advisor

Those who link their World of Hyatt and American Airlines AAdvantage accounts can gain access to a variety of new benefits with American Airlines beginning in 2025. Here’s a summary of what’s coming.

Redeem World of Hyatt Points for AAdvantage Status for a Day

Starting January 1, 2025, if you are an Explorist or Globalist with World of Hyatt, you can redeem your Hyatt points and enjoy AAdvantage elite status and all the perks that come with it for a full day.

AAdvantage members can already use miles to get status for a day through the “Enhance With Miles” program—you must purchase your status at least seven days in advance and the reward must be used within 372 days of purchase. We would expect that World of Hyatt members who choose to redeem points for a day’s status will have similar redemption and usage windows, but we’ll have to wait to see.

This also means Chase’s partnership with Hyatt will be even more valuable starting next year. You can transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards® to World of Hyatt, just like you can today, and then use points to upgrade your American Airlines flight with status for a day.

If you add The World of Hyatt Credit Card to the mix, you’ll get automatic Discoverist status, five elite qualifying night credits toward your next status level and the ability to earn two more elite qualifying night credits for every $5,000 you spend on your credit card.

New AAdvantage Award Options Within Milestone Rewards

Also beginning January 1, 2025, a slew of new American Airlines perks will be added at different World of Hyatt Milestone Reward levels.

  • Preferred seat coupons: When you reach 20 and 30 nights, or 35,000 and 50,000 base points, Hyatt members can choose two Preferred seat coupons for use on American Airlines flights.
  • Main Cabin Extra seat coupons: When reaching 40 and 50 nights or 65,000 and 80,000 base points, Hyatt members can select two Main Cabin Extra seat coupons for their travels on American Airlines flights.
  • Gold Status: At 70, 80 and 90 nights, Hyatt members can choose AAdvantage Gold status for the full membership year as their Milestone Reward.
  • Platinum status: For those loyal enough to reach 100 nights in a year, the choice of AAdvantage Platinum status is available for the full membership year as a Milestone Reward.
