5 ways to automate Unbounce

Unbounce lets you build high-converting landing pages for marketing campaigns. But running a successful campaign doesn’t end when your Unbounce page captures a lead. You still need to record the data from lead form submissions, manage and follow up with potential customers, update your team, and organize lead data in a centralized database.

While you can try to knock out these tasks manually, it becomes virtually impossible as your business scales. By automating your Unbounce landing page, you can streamline your lead management workflows even as your number of clients and campaigns grows.

Zapier’s automated workflows (called Zaps) let you connect Unbounce to your business-critical apps so you can extract customer information from forms, update contact records, and send follow-up emails—all automatically. Read on to learn how to automate your Unbounce workflows.

New to Zapier? It’s workflow automation software that lets you focus on what matters. Combine user interfaces, data tables, and logic with thousands of apps to build and automate anything you can imagine. Sign up for free.

Track form submissions in a spreadsheet

Once your landing page is live, it’s essential to keep track of every response you get from your lead or contact forms. Tracking them in a spreadsheet or Airtable database makes it easy to identify potential customers later or share that information with other teams.

But if your landing page receives a high volume of form submissions, manually exporting every response is a huge time-waster. Plus, copying and pasting invites human error, which multiplies as more forms are submitted. Automating the lead data capture process can save time and prevent mistakes.

With these Zaps, you can automatically record lead information from every form response. These workflows let you connect specific spreadsheets and Airtable databases to Unbounce, so whenever you get a new form submission, they’ll add a new row to your Google or Airtable database. That way, you can record form responses and organize leads without manual entry.

Create or update contacts in your email list

After visitors complete your form, following up with them immediately is crucial to increase your chances of converting them into customers. But to do that, you need to subscribe each form respondent to your email list—and doing it manually isn’t feasible if you’re getting a high volume of leads.

Automating the process ensures each lead is promptly added to the appropriate email list, allowing you to follow up with targeted emails at scale. You can use these Zaps to automatically create a new subscriber in your email marketing app, complete with any essential info shared in the form. Similarly, if the contact already exists in your email list, you can update their contact record with the latest information from the submission. This ensures your email list is always accurate, saves time, and reduces the chance of errors.

Keep your CRM up to date

When leads come through your landing page, you want to stay on top of them to ensure they’re assigned to the right sales reps right away. You need to keep your team focused on closing deals, not spending time manually inputting lead data.

By integrating Unbounce with CRM software like Pipedrive, Hubspot, and Salesforce, you can automatically add leads to your CRM, update existing lead records, and track lead data efficiently.

For instance, you can use a Zap to automatically check if a new form submission already exists in your CRM record. If it does, but the submission contains new information, automation can instantly modify the lead record. That way, your CRM data stays up to date and accurate, and your reps can focus on what matters—developing relationships with prospects.

Send notifications to your team

If your team is like most, you probably don’t have the most efficient systems to keep each other in the loop. Do you send an email to each team member every time there’s a form submission? Or do you spend time sorting through a million Slack channels to find the right one for sending updates, wasting valuable time meant for customer follow-up?

Passing on information shouldn’t take up all of your time. And when there’s too much on your plate, that valuable info can easily fall through the cracks. Instead, you can easily set up a Zap to instantly send channel or direct messages in Slack anytime a new form is submitted. Similarly, you can use one of these Zaps to automatically email team members when there’s a new form submission. These workflows improve communication, facilitate collaboration, and ensure everyone is informed.

Send follow-up emails

With warm leads, prompt communication is key to nurturing the relationship and converting them into customers. If you have hundreds or thousands of leads, manual follow-ups, especially in real time, are practically impossible.

A great way to simplify this is to use a Zap to automatically send follow-up emails to specific recipients. For example, if an inquiry comes in through one of your Unbounce forms, you can send a personalized email directly from your email address. These Zaps take care of warm leads by automatically emailing recipients from a custom address.

Use webhooks with Unbounce

Zapier lets you connect Unbounce to thousands of apps. But there may be tools in your tech stack that don’t have a Zapier integration yet. In that case, webhooks can save the day.

Webhooks let you send information between different apps. For example, you may have a bespoke customer database that doesn’t natively connect with other apps or have a Zapier integration. You can still easily capture information from an Unbounce form with a POST action using Zapier’s built-in webhooks tool. Use this Zap to get started.

Use automation to simplify your Unbounce workflows

Automating your Unbounce landing page with Zapier helps you save time and streamline marketing campaigns. When you connect Unbounce to other tools you use daily, you can easily pass lead information across different marketing tools, notify sales of incoming leads, and automate all repetitive lead management tasks. This way, you can focus on the thing that matters most—improving your campaign.

And that’s just the start of what you can do with Unbounce and Zapier. What will you automate first?
